Opening Statement
The business has 16 staff members on company mobiles which is a cost we have to
keep an eye on. We had a current contract about to expire which two years ago was a
good deal so when it came to renew I was not expecting the savings to be large.
This case study describes how Maximum was able to deliver a predicted cost saving
in excess £7000 over two years.
Customer Background
In 1963 Tony Turner developed the world’s first "Flail Hedge and Verge Mower" named
the "HYDRAMOWER", it became the standard for cutting roadside verges by Public
Authorities throughout the UK and by farmers for their hedges. GreenMech Ltd was
formed in 1993 specifically to develop, manufacture and market a range of British built
wood chippers and green waste shredders. With 20,000 square feet of manufacturing
space at its disposal and plans to add further space they have the resources to develop
and support the UK and worldwide export markets. So communications was a key factor
to the mobile staff of sales, support and servicing of Wood Chippers and Shredders
supplied to Tree Surgeons, Contractors, Groundsmen and Local Authorities.
The Business Challenge
With the current service provider being Vodafone, the task to lower the costs whilst
keeping existing service levels was a tall one. An average monthly bill was £900 for 16
users and this included the charging of calls between staff. A new contract was needed
with free calls between our employees as this was 100’s of minutes a month.
Why Maximum
Maximum were providing our communications requirements with a Mitel 5000 telephone
system and had given not only great Service but fantastic value. To give them the
opportunity to further extend those savings demonstrates maximums commitment to our
business valuing the customer relationship rather than thinking of their own profit.
The Solution
An
contract with 2,500 minutes built in and free calls to other
phones. Also as part of this great deal were free itemised billing and 200 texts plus a great package on
International calls with the plans of the company in mind. To complete the calls discount
we were able to offer free calls to 10 nominated landlines giving calls to the office free.
These are services that other providers can charge you for but were important to
GreenMech.
